A money podcast from two practising mortgage brokers
Your big siblings for money.
A general money show for young Australians. Ellie King and Evan Reid are funny about money and serious about getting it right. Real situations, the truth about what goes on behind a bank’s decision, and one thing you can do about it before the episode’s even finished.
How every episode runs
Twenty-odd minutes. One real question.
Money is a normal thing to talk about, including the embarrassing parts. Every episode follows the same shape, so you walk away knowing one thing you didn’t know and one thing you can do today.
The voice note
Someone asks the thing they’re too embarrassed to ask anyone else. It always starts with “am I unhinged to think…”
The reaction
Honest, fast and a bit unfiltered. We roast the situation. Never the person.
The reset
A clear break. From here on we’re talking about everyone in that position, generally.
The full picture
What’s actually going on, why it happens, what the options usually are, and what people in that spot commonly do.
One thing to do today
Small enough that you could do it before you get out of the car.

Meet the hosts
Two licensed brokers. One screw loose.
Both of us grew up without anyone explaining money. Now we deal with lenders every week, and we’d like to save you the years of figuring it out alone.
Ellie King
Director and Mortgage Broker, Elevate Financial Lending, Sydney
Four years in accounting, then four years broking. Ellie looks after the front end of your money life: first homes, deposits, what you can borrow and why the number lands where it does, guarantors, refinancing and building. She also does commercial and asset finance, which most brokers don’t.

“Nine times out of ten, my clients are pleasantly surprised when they realise, oh, we can actually buy something.”

- MPA Best Mortgage Brokers Under 35
